Where would we be without socks
One by one my toes would freeze. And they would die and become black stubs on my feet. And then I'd have to amputate them and never be able to walk again. Then I would be fat and immobile and bitter, driving around the supermarket in a handicap scooter buying more frozen TV dinners that I would take home and eat while watching sitcom reruns and eventually just stare off into space and time...all alone feeling the cut-off nerves tingle where my toes used to be and then suddenly wake up to the monotonous buzzing of my outdated PC and then go to sleep. *sigh* such is life. LOL. wow....I crack myself up.

My dear neglected blog, I now dub thee sir ugly.
hahaha my, my, I have a lot to do to spiff this thing back up. First and foremost, I guess I'm gonna have to find an html wizard. LOL eh. Hmm geez what HAS been going lately...
Junior year has been a great time so far.Except math. Math is like a scar on a beautiful face. Like that one booger that you can't reach. LOL. Graphic. *sigh* It's been so long that it seems as if I've forgotten how to blog. With good reason, too hahah its not like I have all that much to talk about.
I've been reading the Da Vinci Code! I know that I'm , like, hella late to the party, but oh my gosh I can't believe that I haven't read this sooner. I guess it's because I'm Catholic and I was kind of hesitant to read something the pope himself dubbed blasphemous. But hey, it's fiction. It won't hurt anybody. So, my cousin loaned it to me and I decided, "what the hey!"
...it's been about a month now and I'm a little more than halfway done with it. Haha, I know, it's not my usual reading speed...but one of the downsides to being a full time student [and a full time procrastinator] I never find the time to read it. Anyway! I love it so far; it's full of suspense and all that stuff people would call "dirty history." Haha, this Dan Brown guy really knows how to write...you can hardly tell he's making half of it up. LOL. I guess it's because Christian history is so sacred, it's intimidating. So that's probably why people don't dwell too much on it...and why they get so worked up when people DO research and think thoughts that contradict the faith itself. But ah, I prattle. Go read it yourself :] tehe.
HMMM... New Moon...ah, I'm starting to hate the Twilight series with a passion now. For one thing, why is that Bella chick so perfect? She's pretty, smart, witty...hardly any flaws. And her physical description matches that of the author herself [except idealized a bit] HMMM...makes ya wonder huh? And dear Edward...the perfect "antihero" stereoptype. The only thing he's doing to the world is giving girls a ditsy interpretation of how a guy "should" be. I dunno about you guys, but I have never met a guy like Edward Cullen in my life. Haha, on the subject, I heard of a girl on yahoo answers who asked the world if breaking up with her boyfriend [who was a totally great guy] for Edward Cullen was a good thing. She had plane tickets to go to Washington to look for him. Nice move, dip shit. Anyway, back to my point... The Twilight Series is a giant ditsy fan fiction where ditsy little high school girls trap themselves in their own little world and refuse to get a reality check. AGH. Ok I need to stop before I pop a vein.
But just to prove my point...

At the Legion of Honor
So over the Spring break I went to this great museum in San Francisco called The Palace of the Legion of Honor. Palace indeed! It was by far the most beautiful place I've ever been to. I went to see particularly a special exhibit of works from Faberge, Tiffany and Lalique. It was all amazing. Faberge, Tiffany and Lalique designed mainly jewelry or amazing sculptures/trinkets made out of jewels. I thought it was all too extravagant, haha. It was great to look at, but seriously, if you wanted me to wear something like that, you'd have to catch me first. And the imperial eggs by Faberge were to die for. So...here are some pictures from the museum that I took. And sorry, I don't have any pictures from the special exhibit (they don't allow photography in there) but if you want to see it you can check it out yourself! Here's everything you need to know:

Haha, wow I'm on a roll with the blog posts today...
I cannot wait till the weekend, that's all i gotta say..>.>
heat wave? DAYUM!
So yeah, these past few days, I've been god-awful sick with allergies and a cold. (Haha, I know, anyone would think I succumbed to some sort of plague :x) I've been fighting a cough and a runny nose when -bam!- heat wave hits. Let me tell you that there's nothing worse than having allergies in the heat. It's like being Sneezy, but times infinity. PE was a beezy for everyone, I'm sure, and my teacher even had to spare her 6th and 7th periods from running in gut-twitching high temperatures. But everything's good now, the weather's toned down and it's even supposed to rain tomorrow. ANYWAY, my point for all this is, this week being earth week and all, I think people should realize the reason behind this crazy weather.
Behold, the gruesome terror that is...
GLOBAL WARMING

Yeah, I know that there's probably a million people that bug you about Global Warming and stuff, but hey, it's your world too. And in case you haven't noticed, if anything happens to us, we really don't have an emergency exit. Plus it's not really hard to be conservative:
1) Don't sing in the shower. I know it's tempting, but it keeps you in the shower way longer than necessary (believe me >.>)
2) Unplug your cell phone charger or any other appliance when not in use. Believe it or not, appliances still use up power even when turned off ( gayness, I know -__-)
3) After 7:00, instead of using the fan/ AC open your window.
4) Other than that, throw away your trash, recycle, you know the drill! xD
So yeah that's about all I got for you guys. Toodles!

omg.....=__=
Ok so my mom, my sister and I decided [on a whim] to go out to eat lunch at a new place- Tropicana Buffet. Sounds catchy right? Yeah, I thought so. It was supposed to be this Chinese/ Japanese buffet, but when we drove into the plaza we saw that every other restaurant, cafe or market was hispanic. You could imagine how confused we were. But it turned out we did find the right place, and it eerily reminded me of the Yummy Buffet near Silver Creek. The food was nothing special, in fact the only way to describe it was that it was nothing short of typical: deep fried, greasy....bad for you o.o haha. In the first 15 minutes I could already feel my arteries blocking up completely, and I only ate orange chicken and green beans. Yeah...so then I decided to go and try the sushi bar. Again, nothing special... I ate about 5 pieces and got sick of it. Dessert was ridicuolous. This restaurant opened 3 months ago and its ice cream machine is already broken. (wtf? >:O) Big disappointment for me, you could imagine....TT^TT. They had tea cakes which were, like, 75% whipped cream, and this banana custard (yuck). I just stuck with fruit
-____-. So all in all, this was a pretty bad experience for me...I went home with heartburn and a sour expression (haha) So yeah, I would only suggest this restaurant to people with great, healthy appetites. Otherwise, there's nothing better than home cooking in my opinion! xDDD

I'm baaaack!
Alive and kickin', they say, hahaha.
Well, I don't really want to do homework right now, so I thought to myself, "Why not do myself a favor and post something before I avoid procrastinating?" So here I am, about 10:30 in the morning, feeling in desperate need of a better outlook on life.
"It is not length of life, but depth of life."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~
Well, I dunno who this Ralph Waldo Emerson is, but he's got a point, huh? Now that I think about it, if I were to look at life that way, I guess I'd be barely scratching the surface. I mean, the way I'm living right now might be just existing (to put it bluntly hahaha the right words escape me atm) But oh well, I'll make do with what I have. After all, everything can't go your way all the time, so it's up to you to to make the most of it.
and now, I have something to say to you all...

Current Movie List
So lately, I've been wanting to watch a whole bunch of Oscar-acknowledged movies that have had some real good reviews. With my [more or less] discovery of the Red Box, I have decided to establish my own independent Ebert & Roeper kind of shin-dig. All that said, here are the movies I've covered so far:
IN THE OSCARS:
1) The Changeling:(rated R?) Angelina Jolie is amazing in this movie; most people know her as the very attractive, bad-ass woman with the big guns, but here you get to see her more sensitive motherly side. This movie's about a single mom (Christine Collins) living in LA in the nineteen....60's if I remember right, with her little boy named Walter. One day he goes missing and 5 months after she reports to the police, the FBI bring her back the wrong boy to close the case and remain on good terms with the public. It has a whole lot of suspense and twists, and I was really satisfied with the ending. (5 stars)
2) Rachel Getting Married: (rated R) Anne Hathaway plays a recovering alcoholic and drug addict (Kimberly) who is trying to get past the fact that she accidentally drowned her little brother while she was high. This movie takes place during the time her sister Rachel is getting married and she was released from rehab. During preparations for the wedding, she has to deal with the tensions with her and her family. Realistic. (5 stars)
3) Australia: (idk what rating, haha) Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman two Australians playing Australians (well Hugh Jackman anyway) in a movie called Australia...ain't that a little nutty? I thought it was pretty good, although it didn't really make sense to me, and the recurring "Over the Rainbow" theme was a little...eh. It's about this English woman who comes to Australia to take over her husband's cattle ranch, but her cattle business is being jeopardized by this cattle-monarch sleaze who's trying to put her out of business. On the way she meets this bizarre indigenous Australian kid (an aboriginal) who's half white and half black (in "laymen's terms, a "creamy") and claims he's some sort of magic man and can "sing people to him." Good effort, but I wasn't really convinced. (3/5)
OTHER:
1) Schindler's List: It made me cry like a beezy. Well, not really, I watched it with my friends so that kind of took away from the core-meaning of the movie (I found out how good I was with a German accent xDD), but all the same, it's an incredible , heart-breaking depiction of the Holocaust, then again, it's how it happened, line for line. Spielberg had outdone himself. (5 stars. Shalom!)
STILL NEED TO WATCH:
1) The Boy In The Striped Pajamas: This is also another movie on the Holocaust.
2) The Reader: Kate Winslet won best actress for this movie
3) Slumdog Millionaire: ...need I say more?

How's Life Been Treating Me?
Horrendously. But I guess it's kind of my fault. Lately, I think I've been taking life for granted. With that in mind, let me tell you what's been goin' on.
My grades have been pretty much "laissez-faire" lately. I haven't been doing much about them. (laissez---> lazzzzayyyy....haha)
Spring break's coming up, and I have next to nothing planned out for myself.
Current Reading List:
1. Alice In Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass
2. Peter Pan
3. LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring
4.Boy in the Striped Pajamas
5. no fifth, but if I didn't add one I'd feel incomplete.
I'm thinking about learning some Chinese from my friend (in exchange for lessons in Vietnamese xD) I can already count to ten!
My mom is thinking about planning a sweet 16 for me (despite some resistance on my part) But I figured if I let her have her way, I'd be making her happy. She'd always wanted to plan a huge party...but then again I only have my small circle of friends to invite, haha.
CAR?? MY DAD'S GETTING ME A CAR?? I'm still trying to decide whether or not this is contradictory to nature.
Well, now that I think about it, life has been treating me very well.. I just didn'take the time to appreciate everything. But now that I have, I think I can have peace of mind and a different perspective on things now.
...aaaand that pretty much says it, now maybe I should do my homework now... I don't think the laissez-faire lifestyle is really working for me, haha.

I want to chew off my legs
I just came home from ice skating...
Let me tell you first that I haven't gone ice skating since I was in kindergarten. Whoop-dee-damn-doo....I thought it was so easy back then... I just ran out onto the ice and fell. Then I went home pretty much.
But yeah, this ice skating trip was alot more successful. I only fell twice. The first time I had a hard time getting back up. Though I shouldn't feel sorry for myself, there were other people that were in hysterics. Like Shing Poor guy... Arlene thought he was gonna piss himself. He clung to us for like five laps around the rink, all the while going "SH** SH** SH** SH**...F*** IMMA DIE D8 (etc etc...) " and when he saw little 5 year olds passing by all dandy and happy-like he'd be going "THOSE DAMNED LIL BITCHES!"
hmm....o.o
Meanwhile I was hanging out with Chris, my n00b skating partner. Bleh we were horrible. But I have to say we got farther than Shing. But we kept tripping eachother.
It's all good though we got through the whole thing in one piece (save for one D:)
So now I'm going to wash my socks before I get athletes foot or something and pray that I can walk tomorrow.
